You are likely wondering why there is an entire page dedicated to a shed.

In 2012, when Denise & James started working on the first DMWA event, they knew they would need a lot of space, to sort and bundle the close to 200 auction lots. They knew their small Cape Cod with under 1,400sqft would never do.

They did, however, have an old (2002) utility / potting shed that had been used for storing excess “junk”. It was 8×10, but had a slanted south-facing wall of windows, which not only generated a LOT of heat, but also severely limited the amount of usable space.

So, after struggling through the 2013 event, using not only that shed, but also most of the rooms in the house as well as Denise’s parent’s place, they decided that something needed to be done.

So, in March of 2014, they ordered a new 10×16 shed from Sheds Unlimited ( hint – if you are looking for a shed, check out shedsunlimited.net ).

The old shed was demolished, the concrete foundation expanded , and the new shed was delivered:

That was the easy part.

James then added power, lights, 3 permanent fans, insulation, drywall, climate control (AC and Heat), and Denise added paint. LOTS Of Paint.

The shed may look like a traditional shed from the outside

, but from the inside, it looks a lot more like Key West

They are hoping that all the extra room, and the fact that it is fully air-conditioned will not only keep all of the items at reasonable temperatures, but also allow Denise & all of the volunteers to work in a comfortable environment.

I have prepared a short (10 min) movie about the Shed:
